I'm a slacker!

Well, March was not a very productive month for me. I think making "do this once a month" items on my list weren't the best idea. Oh well, I will press on.

I have a lot of things coming up pertaining to my list. The American Heart Association Heart Walk is this coming Saturday. My sister and I (and a few other people she works with) are walking. The next weekend is the MS Walk. My church is doing family portraits on Easter Sunday.

I'm going to pick something to work on this week that I know I can finish. And I have a few ideas for my remaining 3 items I need to finish my list. I intend for April to be a much more productive month for me. I at least need to make sure I'm checking on this list once a week - I think I skipped last week. Slacker!!

#64 - Record all my dreams in a journal

I type much faster than I write, so this morning I typed out my dream really quickly. I started a new blog for it. I have some really awesome dreams, so you may want to keep an eye over there. I'll probaby let you know over here if I put something up over there, but you can be a follower if you want. Whatever makes your little heart happy. There's a link to the right for my dream journal ----->

Weekly Roundup

I told myself I'd update my list every Monday, but this week has been straight from hell and I'm just now making the time to do it.

As of yesterday, I have lost 13lbs, getting me ever closer to meeting #48. I'm really improving my elliptical skills. My sister and I run in to each other every so often at the gym. She wants me to get back into sparkpeople.com. We'll see.

My weekly letter went out to my grandfather.

I added #98 (I only have 3 blank spots left now) - to buy at least 10 Nancy Drew books for the girls. I was inspired by this last week when I was at the bookstore buying a worthless "learn how to help your kids sleep" book. They had all the Nancy Drew books for $3. Nancy Drew was the first "real" books I ever read. I know I was way to young to be reading books that big, but I have been an avid reader my whole life. My mom said before I ever went to school, I taught myself how to read. She said my Sunday School teacher asked her one day if she knew that I could read. She had no clue. She said not only could I read the Bible, but I understood what I was reading. So when I saw all these Nancy Drew books, I had to grab some. I think I got the first 7. There are probably 50 of them, but even at $3, it adds up quick. I'll probably reread them myself.

And finally... I'm at a loss about what to do about one thing on my list that I'm pretty sure will not happen... #94 - visit A&A in Houma. I won't get into it, but as things stand right now, it will not happen. I don't know if I should replace it or what. Part of me wants to keep it there in hopes that things will change but part of me thinks it is time to let go.

Postcrossing.com

One of the items on my list is to send out one postcard a month using postcrossing.com. Last week I received my first postcard!

It came all the way from China. It was the sender's first postcard too. =)

But that's not all... I received another postcard this week! I don't know exactly how it all works. I know your address isn't given out until you send out a postcard and the receiver logs it in. But I guess after that it's pretty random. This week's postcard came from Finland.

Isn't it cute? The stamp was really cool... I had to scan it too. LOL

The sender made me kind of jealous... she was about to go skiing. I've never been skiing, and would probably do myself some serious injury, but it sounds more exciting than going to work. =)

Weekly roundup

February is over. Wow.

Zoe's date was not very exciting... it was too cold to really do much of anything that I wanted to do. So she went with me when I did my weekly shopping and got to play on the rides at the arcade.

I debated on whether or not Bill and I got an actual "date" in February. We did have a breakfast date planned a few weeks ago, but he got stuck at work. I decided that I would go ahead and count the day I stayed home from work with him. Yeah, he had a concussion and we slept most of the day, but it's rare for us to get ANY time without kids. So I counted it. I'll make sure we have a true date this month.

I made it to the gym more than 3 times last week. And I'm kicking butt on the elliptical. When I first started on the machine, I was lucky to hit 80 strides a minute and now I'm over 100. The number just gets a little bigger every day.

I sent out my card last week to my friend Gigi. She sent me a message on facebook that she got it today and it was just what she needed. That makes me feel good. I'm still deciding who to send a card to this week. Maybe my grandpa.

And I got my March postcard for Postcrossing ready to be mailed today. This time they gave me an address in Finland. How cool! My last address was in the US, so it wasn't quite as exciting, but still fun. I should be getting a postcard myself soon. I can't wait to see where it's from. I think once the girls get older, they will look at the postcards I'll be getting from around the world and love them. Maybe it will inspire them to take interest in geography and history like their daddy. Heaven knows I never cared about either. I had to look up where Finland was today. I was close. Kinda. =)

This week I need to upload February's pictures to snapfish and order prints. I still have a backlog of photos to be put in the girls' albums, so I have to get that caught up this month along with February's pictures. Now that Spring is approaching, I'll be more camera happy than I have been lately.

So that's it for now. I'm going to keep on chipping away...

#74 - Make a list of 25 things I like about myself

I had started this when I started the list, and then my notebook mysteriously disappeared. I strongly suspect one or two gremlins of playing with it and losing it. So I worked on it this week (and encouraged some friends to make their list too...) and have finished it this morning.

  24. My hair and nails grow really fast
  25. I'm a pretty healthy person

Oh so supportive...

There is a new ticker over there ===>
It's counting down the days until I stop smoking. The ticker itself it quite depressing. I know smoking is expensive, but when you have to look at how much you spend, it's really sickening.

So, I told my husband yesterday, "I'm going to stop smoking April 1."

He laughed at me.

Really, he did. "It's not like you haven't tried before." And I guess that means I shouldn't even try again?

So I told him he wasn't a very supportive person. Which is only partially true. He does support some of my endeavors: my photography, going to the gym (I wonder how much he'd support that if he had to watch the kids though). But this is important, too, and he shouldn't find it funny.

But whatever. I think he just doesn't want to quit himself. He's always stated that he can quit whenever he wants to, he's not addicted. Uh huh. He has quit before, too, and I suspect it wasn't as easy as he likes to make it out to be.

That's the day though... April 1. Or maybe I'll quit sooner. I'm tired of it being such a big part of my life.
